LAST REMAINING UNIT.... On behalf of the Parish of St Martin, we are delighted to seek Expressions of Interest from potential occupiers for units within its Preferred Scheme at the former St Martin Primary School. The scheme was very well received by the Parishioners during a recent consultation exercise, with over 80% approval rating obtained via an online survey questionnaire.  In addition, the Parishioners voted overwhelmingly in favour of progressing the scheme at a recent public assembly. From the feedback received, there is little doubt that there exists a strong demand for this facility from both the Parishioners and the east of the Island as a whole. It is envisaged that the development will comprise a small number of units to include a high-quality food retail convenience store, a doctors’ surgery with integrated pharmacy, plus flexible space for one or multiple other users such as community health and wellness providers; say a dentist, an optician, a counsellor or therapist, an osteopath, or a chiropractic. Alternative occupier uses will also be considered and enquiries are encouraged from all interested parties, whatever their proposed use. There will be further community and group association space, measures for enhanced pedestrian safety in the area, over 30 on-site parking spaces (in addition to the almost 100 spaces in the existing Parish car-park over the road), and a secure parcel locker facility and a cash machine. It is envisioned that the development, which is subject to planning approval, will be sympathetic to both its heritage and the surrounding country environment, using its attractive and historic façade to provide a scenic and prominent elevation for purpose-built accommodation inside.
