The port of Grimsby (2.5 miles) plays a key role in the UK automotive and offshore wind sectors and routinely handles fresh produce, dry bulks, forest products, steel, minerals and ores as well as agribulk cargoes. The port of Immingham (7 miles) is the UK’s largest port by tonnage handling around 46million tonnes of cargo a year. Both ports are operated by ABP as well as the additional Humber Ports of Goole and Hull and are the busiest in the UK by tonnage and the fourth busiest in Europe. Almost a quarter of all England’s cargo passes through the Humber Ports. In addition to the port activities key focus sectors in the locality are food & drink, logistics, renewable energy, chemicals and process industries. The A180 provides the main road access to Grimsby Town Centre and links into the M180 and the A15 at junction 5 of M180 motorway. The M180 provides a link to the M18 which in turn links to the M1 at junction 31 or the M62 at Junction 35, thereby providing links to the South and North. The A15 runs north to Hull over the Humber Bridge and subsequently onto the M62 trans-Pennine route. The new 1.5 mile South Humber Bank link road which is currently under construction between Moody Lane, Grimsby and Hobson Way, Stallingborough will provide direct access to the Ports of Immingham and Grimsby (expected completion early 2020). Domestic and international Airport services are available from Humberside (12 miles) and Doncaster Sheffield Airports (53 miles).The site is accessed directly off Moody Lane.
